Daniel Day-Lewis: A Study in Character

This self-initiated portrait project explores the transformative performances of Daniel Day-Lewis through three of his most iconic roles: There Will Be Blood (2007), Phantom Thread (2017), and Gangs of New York (2002).

Each piece captures not only the actor’s physical embodiment of the character but also the psychological depth and atmosphere that define his performances. The series reflects my interest in portraying cinematic intensity through portraiture, using composition and expression to translate film into still imagery.
